Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to All!

Well, another one over! I hope you are all having a wonderful time with family and friends and that the pud and turkey made it to the table in that order!!

This is our Christmas Day today - beautiful blue and sunshine! About 26 degrees outside in the sun.
This is Susan's Bay, about an hour's drive from my house.

I got most things done but my work space looks like a tip and I really don't know where to start cleaning it up. On top of all that, my husband was put into hospital on Christmas Eve with a nasty infection in his leg, and that meant spending all day Christmas Eve sitting in the Emergency Department! The turkey went into the oven at 9.00 pm! We got there though and now sitting in a pool of silence with a ridge full of food and half a bottle of champers waiting for me!

As you know the theme for December is

 Flickering Lights
TWIST have a candle in the item made

Here are two more pieces of inspiration and you have a few days to create and upload - no stamps please.

Getting closer now!

Are you closer to be organised yet? Nope, neither am I. I keep telling myself I still have time......

Not sure when that will be ......

Anyway, the theme for December is

 Flickering Lights
TWIST have a candle in the item made

The design team have been busy and to lead off is CG's oh-so-amusing house with not only a candle in the window for the twist, but her flickering lights are the house decorations on the roof! Too clever!

The rest of the team are doing amazing stuff too!

Only two weeks to go until that funny old man in the red suit climbs down the chimney with goodies for all the good girls and boys - sounds a bit creepy doesn't it?

You were all just resisting the temptation to enter!

Christmas of course, Hanaka and New Year.  A candle can be a sign of hope, a light in the wilderness, or through a window; it can be on a Christmas tree or just around it.........you can make a candle holder or similar or a Christmas candle decoration...........

To get your minds working on this theme we have for you this month not one, but three
 Guest Designers.

In no order at all, here they are:

Karen Brierly

Hi!  My name is Karen, and I live in a semi-rural area in South East Queensland (Australia) with my husband and teenage daughter.  We live on bush acreage with our dog, and an assortment of chooks, ducks and Australian wildlife.  I enjoy sharing my scrapping creations online with like-minded people, so I was thrilled to be invited to be a guest designer at Unstampabelles this month.  I love to create, and I am definitely a layout girl.  I favour simple, linear designs and strong colour combinations, though sometimes I dabble in creating mixed media backgrounds.  My favourite tool is my sewing machine.  I'd love you to visit my blog at beingkaren.blogspot.com

Such a pretty page layout.

Alicia

Hi, I am Alicia O'Bryant, a mother and wife who also works full time as an office manager. I have been crafty since childhood. I owned a jewelry crafting business for over 20 years and have been paper crafting for almost as long. I enjoy the city of life of Cincinnati, Ohio, USA where I have lived for 18 years. I love to scrapbook as well as create cards and mixed media projects. I am also mom to two fur babies.

For today's project, I up-cycled some glass jars with Epsom salts. I added decoration and a flickering tea light.

Wow, how effective is the Epsom Salts here!

Alice K
of Yellow House Studio

Hi! I was very inspired by the challenge theme - flickering lights - candle as a sign of hope... We have winter now so they are of course wintry.
I have been making ATC's a log time. I started 8 years ago, but there were some years when I didn't do any crafting due to a heavy work load. I am most inspired by old photos, and you can often see people in my cards. Although I do love fish, birds and butterflies! When  I hold an old photo in my hands I ask myself what kind of life that person might have lead. I like to build small worlds on my cards and prefer to make cards that don't 'open up' easily. I like to build them up in layers - physical layers, layers of color and layers of meaning.

I hope you feel inspired to join this challenge. You can find my blog here: yellowhousestudio.blogspot.com .
regards,
alice k.

Alice has created ACT's with her candles as symbols of hope

Then there is this to also hopefully inspire you

Remember, no stamps and then off you go!
HINT: I have seen some lovely candle dies being use out there in crafting land......

Flickering Lights and Happy Faces - Christmas

That look of wonder and excitement on a small child's face, and reflecting the flickering light of a real or imitation candle. That's Christmas really.

I hope you are well on the way to preparations for your Christmas time, however you enjoy the period. I am as usually way behind. You know, I have found that it doesn't really matter - it all gets done eventually - and you can always ask for assistance!

We are asking you this month to think of candles and create

Flickering Lights
TWIST have a candle in the item made

Prize is a $20 Aust (includes postage) Gift Voucher from shop of choice

Christmas of course, Hanaka and/ or a New Year.  A candle can be a sign of hope, a light in the wilderness, or through a window; it can be on a Christmas tree or just around it.........you can make a candle holder or similar or a Christmas candle decoration...........

I am using mechanical tea lights for my candles to avoid catching fire
but Dale and Wynn are adventurous!

Lets see what you can come up with

When you have made your 2D or 3D candle object - without stamps of course - enter it at our linky

Happy Christmas!
