Final December Post!

Hi to all our followers.

Well, what a week it has been for us in Australia and for those of you in the rest of the world.
Vale to all victims of mindless violence where-ever you are in the world.

This is a photo of Martin Place (Sydney)  two day's ago - so many flowers....
And I am particularly proud of my fellow Aussies and the
"I'll ride with You" campaign too........

BUT the theme for the December Challenge is
SUMMER FUN

with a TWIST of making a Christmas card to fit the Southern Hemisphere

Without any more ado, here is some more inspiration for you from some of the DT

I try to keep my cards generic using lots of stars, decorations and plain greetings to showcase the Christmas theme. No snow, roasting chestnuts, or logs blazing on open fires in this household.

Jane is leaving us at the end of this year  as she really needed to pull back from some of her crafty commitments. We are sad to wave goodbye to her but hope to see her entering into our challenges in the future. Many thanks Jane for your work and your suggestions and general helpfullness.

I don't know about you but wine provides a lot of Summer Fun at our place at times, and as we live by the water I thought it an appropriate image to include here!

Halfway Post for December!

Challenge #42 for December is as you know
Summer Fun

and the TWIST is to make a Southern Hemisphere Christmas card

Now, this seems to have frightened off people - especially as they remember that you cannot use a stamp in this challenge - either digital or rubber or clear!

There are lots of decoupage, inks, beautiful dies and other ways of creating some Summer Fun images for a Southern Christmas - just go to the first post for December and look at the cards created by the DT!

This challenge is being Sponsored by Bizzy Bec
Bec run's an on-line store from Western Australia and she is offering us
this die as a prize for the winner.

Here is some more inspiration to assist your creative juices

                                                               Urvashi Rao

Xmas Shaker cards, with glitter powder and sand inside. Santa is hand sketched.
Santa is certainly having a good break and cooling off in the Summer heat!

I used a similar idea of recycling a former card received by me last year - that Koala is having fun getting ready for the Santa run and hanging up his stocking!

It's a fabulous prize, so why not take some time out, put the feet up and create up a storm for this challenge - I did!

November's Winner's

It seems so long ago that we were making boxes for November!

We has some truly beautiful creations but there is only one winner
(Please note that I contact winners and DT Favourites - if you have not heard from me, certainly shoot me an email, but check your junk mail first in case it has been transferred there)

True Random Number Generator: Result:8
Being Karen

Well done Karen - I really like that this is an experimental piece and she comments on the way it is done and her findings, so if you would want to make such a box you already have feedback

Karen has been a winner with us before - I think she may be a lucky type person - fancy random org pulling her number again! Anyway, that is how the proverbial cookie crumbles sometimes, isn't it!

The DT Favourite went to Jane at

Well done Jane

Summer fun - twist: to make a Southern Hemisphere Christmas card
On to December - and to the busy time of the year for so many of us - perhaps that's why people are a bit shy about entering this one? Maybe it's because I made it a bit too hard? Remember, you can enter the Summer Fun part without the TWIST if you wish - but of course, we would want you to have a go at the TWIST as well. There is a great prize for this:

Bizzy Becs Store Blog

Sammy, who starred for us in October, agreed to be a Guest Designer for December
"I can honestly say it was the hardest brief I've ever worked with... Summery Christmas is one thing, but without stamping!? EEK!
But I finally hit on an idea, so I hope you like it!!"

I'm not sure about you BUT I LOVE IT!

I love the inkiness of the background, the quirky humour and the simple tree

See, if you really think about this, you can do it - and I know it pushes you outside your comfort zone, but the results are always worth it!

So, have a go and enter - you have until the 29th December (an extended time) to get your entries in!

December - Challenge #42: Summer Fun!

Yes, our challenge this December is

Summer Fun

The TWIST to make a Southern Hemisphere Christmas card

Now, this does not mean you have to make a Christmas card - only if you want to have a go at the TWIST as well. However, we would love you to use your ingenuity and imagine a friend in the Southern part of the world (Africa, South America, Antarctica or Australia) and have a go at making them a card to acknowledge the Christmas Spirit. Just remember: NO polar bears in Antartica -just penguins I am afraid!

This challenge is being Sponsored by Bizzy Bec
Bec run's an on-line store from Western Australia and she is offering us
this die as a prize for the winner.

Thank you Bec!

Now the DT have really scratched their heads and though how they can create a card without using a stamp (digital or rubber or clear) and they have come up with some amazing ideas! Sometimes I really do not know how they are going to make something from the challenges I throw at them!!

Wynn

I cut a Christmas image from a scrap of material left over from a quilting project and adhered it to my card base using spray adhesive. I then used gold puffy paint to seal the edges and wrote my greeting on with black artliner pen.

I hand made some gum nuts and gum leaves and embellished them with pens.

A very simple card with a tree die done in yellows & oranges.

Well, there you have it - and how wonderful are the ideas for Summer Fun!
Please link up your card  below and have fun creating!

Winner's post for October

Firstly, have to share this gorgeous photo of two Humpback whales playing in the Mercury Passage off Maria Island one Spring afternoon this week. Not my photo's - but so amazing! I used to live just near there - in fact if you go to my blog page and look at the photo at the top, these whales were just a little way off to the left of that photo!

Just showoffs really!

Bit like the winner of our October Challenge

 Meet Claire Dale

Hi, my name is Claire! I have been crafting on and off for about 20 years now, and can officially say that I'm addicted! My craft room is my happy place! My passion is card making, but I also do cake decorating and dabble in a bit of crochet when the dog doesn't want to sit on my lap! I am married to a wonderful man, and have two grown up children, the youngest still at university and the oldest working but back living at home! I work in a school office, so get all the school holidays off to craft! I am really excited to join UnstampaBelles, and look forward to my first challenge!

Please go and welcome Claire to the team
